Acidity and heartburn

Acid reflux and heartburn are both connected concerns of individuals. Acidity usually refers to backflow of acid from stomach to esophagus and the uncomfortable feeling (burning sensation) that caused by this process called mid chest pain.

Here some of the symptoms:

  • difficulty or pain with swallowing

  • a persistent cough

  • worsening asthma

  • when heartburn is accompanied by unintentional weight loss

  • nausea

  • vomiting

  • bleeding

What needs to be done:

  • Eliminating common trigger foods

  • (such as citrus fruits, tomato-based, onion, garlic, and chocolate).

  • Other common culprits include high-fat, spicy, or fried foods.

  • Some beverages, including coffee, tea, carbonated drinks, and alcohol, can all lead to acid reflux.

  • Sometimes tight clothes can force stomach acid into the esophagus, so a wardrobe change might make a difference.

  • Quitting cigarettes and other tobacco products may also alleviate symptoms.

  • And by elevating your head in bed and avoiding meals at night, you can also reduce heartburn.

  • Antacid and thums like over the counter drugs might help or please see you doctor for further evaluation.
