The History Of GMO/ Organic Foods

Updated: Jul 11, 2022

Going back to be clear on differences between GMOs and Organic Foods.

GMO stands for genetically modified organism. GMOs are living organisms including food that have their DNA changed in a precise way, typically by adding a handful of genes from another organism.

Organic Foods are grown without most conventional pesticides. Organic food is produced without synthetic fertilizer, sewage sludge, bioengineering, or ionizing radiation—but there are a number of natural and some synthetic pesticides that can be used on organic crops.

After all, food quality depends on a lot of things, including the temperature of the soil, what nutrients are in the dirt, and when the crops are picked.
