Morning or night? With or without food? Fasting or not fasting? Age specific, conditions..
Some of the factors to consider while taking multivitamin.
Type : some types of pills are only made with vitamins and some has only minerals. And some are combination of both multivitamins and minerals. Multivitamins typically contain both categories such as water soluble vitamin C, B complex and fat soluble vitamin A, D, E, and K. So for the fat soluble vitamins you need to take them with meal which contains fat and fiber for easy absorption and digestion.
Stage of life : some are older adults, age factors, pregnancy or not (prenatal multivitamin) and younger generation with specific deficiency. Please consider all of those factors for to be more specific when choosing your everyday multivitamin.
Individual Preference : if you prefer doctors consideration then please do so. And also keep in mind when you are suffering from any specific illness. Know the absorption rate and how the digestion will affect while taking this medication.
Health condition : such as if you have cancer, osteoporosis, osteoarthritis, thyroid, kidney stones or any other condition please be aware and take extra precautions with your routine doctor before taking any medication.
Morning vs evening : if you are a heavy eater in the morning then it's good to take it with breakfast. But if you tend to skip breakfast then don't take it, it might upset your stomach. At evening has a tendency to mix with other pills that you have taken earlier. And also vitamin B complex gives you energy so you tend to sleep less at night. So evening can be difficult for those who like to sleep early.
Timing with meals : it's always good to take it with meals either morning, lunch or dinner. But for better absorption make sure you have taken fat along with your meal. Pairing it with your meals helps with less nausea, vomiting and diarrhea.
Experts Recomendation : letting your doctor know helps to find out if any condition caused while taking other medications. You may not know that certain medications should not be mixed together and can cause life threatening conditions. So please watch out for that.
I hope you become more knowledgeable about this topic and share it with your friends and family.
Sincerely
Kinjal.
